Italy visa processing time from Jalandhar: about 70 days right now
Italy visas from VFS Jalandhar are taking about 70 days right now. Most passports from applications made on 10–12 Aug 2026 are now out. People who applied 1½ to 3 months ago waited about 57 days (median), 9 in 10 within 80 days.

Anyone waiting for a Schengen visa from India who wants to see how fast the embassies are returning passports. We show overall progress from courier data. We can't show the decision or status of your own application; for that, use VFS tracking or contact the embassy.
From BlueDart's public tracking. VFS sends passports back by BlueDart, and each shipment carries the applicant's VFS reference number, which follows a fixed pattern (country, city, application date and serial). We check references in that pattern on BlueDart's tracking page several times a day, so every passport listed here is a real, dispatched shipment. You can check any of them yourself with "Verify on BlueDart".
Several times a day. Italy updates at 11:30 AM, 6 PM, 12 AM, 1 AM and 3:30 AM IST, Tuesday to Saturday. Most new dispatches appear after midnight, when the courier picks up the day's passports. Couriers don't pick up passports at weekends, so on Sunday it updates only at 6 PM and on Monday not at all; Monday's passports appear from 12 AM that night.
Usually because the day isn't over: most of a day's passports appear in the 12 AM update, after the courier picks them up. Some days really are quiet, for example around a holiday or when the embassy sends fewer passports back. If your own passport was dispatched and still isn't here the next morning, tell us with your reference number.
It's the latest application date for which about 70% of a typical day's passports have been dispatched. Some people who applied on or before that date are still waiting, so it isn't a cutoff.
Your reference number contains your application date. For example, NLDBLR170826004901 means Netherlands (NLD), Bangalore (BLR), applied 17 Aug 2026 (170826), serial 0049, first person on the file (01). Under "By application date", tap your date's bar to see every passport dispatched from that day. Switch to Boxes to see which serial numbers haven't been seen yet.
Each box is one application, numbered by the 4 digits after the date in the reference number. Green means at least one passport on it has been dispatched. "Not seen yet" is a number below the highest one dispatched that we haven't seen: that application may still be with the embassy, collected in person, withdrawn, or the number may never have been used. "Possible on a busy day" (dashed) is a number above the highest one seen, up to how many applications the centre takes on a busy day, so it may not exist at all.

Usually, yes. Many applicants see EES turn OK a day or two before VFS or the courier shows anything. Check with dates inside your planned trip: outside your visa's dates it shows Not OK even when you have one.
Not on its own. Applicants here have received approved visas while EES still showed Not OK, and others saw it turn OK only the day after their passport was dispatched. The decision is in your passport, so wait for it. Read what applicants saw with EES →
It depends where you collect it. Passports collected in person at VFS Delhi, Bangalore or Kolkata never go by courier, so they can't show up here. If you collect at another centre, your passport is sent there by courier, so it usually shows up.

I applied for my visa to Netherlands on 7th sep from Hyderabad. This past Friday the EES status turned to OK. My travel dates while applying were, oct 11-nov 17. I missed my older flight. Just want to understand is it safe to book a flight for this Friday early hours? Also, tentatively, what would be my visa start date? I see it's given for 45 days.

My status on VFS got updated to dispatched on 16/10.. but EES says NOT OK.. does that mean it got rejected?
Not necessarily. Sometimes it takes time to update. Some people got their passport with visa before EES turned ok so don’t worry. Hopefully it comes with a stamp🤞🏻

Hi Vijay, just so you know, we're an independent tracker, not VFS or the embassy, so we can't check individual applications. From Jalandhar, most passports being dispatched right now were applied in mid-to-late July, a wait of about 10–11 weeks. Only 3 from 11 Aug have come back so far. If the pace holds, 11 Aug should start moving in the next 2–3 weeks. For your specific file, VFS is the one to ask. 🙏

I had applied on 7 sep for three of us. Spouse plus child. This is our third visit in 3 years. Our visas came today. My spouse got 2 years, child got 1 and I got 6 months! It is so random! I was the sponsor for my kid and they gave him a longer visa than me ! Anyone with a similar experience? What influences this decision.
Could it be because of passport validity? Mine expires mid of year 2027
My passport shows dispatched today! But with my application had my husband and infant passport, that is not showing up here nor it’s showing on blue dart as dispatched . Anyone faces this earlier ? Travel date is 21st oct
Passport application date 28th September, reached embassy on 30th September. Dispatched from switzerland embassy today. But EES still shows as NOT OK. When can i expect the EES status to be updated?

5 of us applied on 4 September and our travel is on 4 October night. Our status is still showing that the application is under processing, and we are extremely worried because of the 2 October holiday and the weekend. Been speaking with Embassy in New Delhi and VFS, but both are of no use. Suggest how to proceed
Finally only one of our passports got dispatched through bluedart on 14th Sep, rest 4 applications no progress yet, but ESS shows OKAY for us and for the passport that got dispatched today too.

Why applications submit through jalandhar vfs taking long vfs work is just to forward documents to embassy not decision making ,then why the wait is long for Jalandhar
Is there any pattern to how the Swiss Embassy processes visa applications? Do they prioritise applications based on the travel date, for example, people travelling within the next 15 days getting picked up first, while those travelling later are processed afterwards? Or is it random, with applications being picked up on different days regardless of travel dates? I’ve noticed that some applicants who had their VFS appointments on the same day as mine have already received passport dispatch updat
They also seggregate based upon the Visa type. Moreover, if it's a business visa, there are companies with fast track visa process applicable for them which makes it quicker

Really surprised by 14sep applications pace - passport dispatches before and after this day are high but for 14Sep (my application date from Delhi), dispatches remain low.

Three of us applied for a Switzerland business visa on 21 September 2026 at the Chennai VFS center. Our applications reached Delhi on 23 September 2026. Since then, we have not received any update regarding the status of our applications. Our original travel date was 02 October 2026. Due to the delay in visa processing, we have postponed our travel to 16 October 2026. We have already been waiting for a considerable period.
Hi KP. It is embassy's decision on which applications are picked. It is surely frustrating that they do not pick applications in any particular order. But please note that this site is not affiliated to embassy or vfs hence we can not know anything about specific applications. The site is built to see general trends and get a sense of processing speed to plan things better.

I have applied Schengen visa Netherlands from VFS Delhi on 15th September and still showing under process in the embassy
I applied for a Netherlands visa on 25 August, and my VFS status still says: "Your application has been dispatched to the Dutch Embassy in New Delhi and will be processed accordingly." My travel date is 9 October. Since the status has not changed, does this mean I may not receive my passport before then? I also saw that 33 applications from 25 August were dispatched yesterday. Is there still a chance that my passport could be dispatched today?
I booked via Makemytrip, the cancellation is 17k per head and reschedule is 7k+difference in fare. It's difficult to decide. If not this Oct, I may recshedule to Nov during Deepavali

Hi, we're an independent tracker, not VFS or the embassy, so we can't check individual applications. A few 17 Sep passports were dispatched from Jalandhar on 8 Oct, but most passports going out right now were applied in July, so many applications are taking around 10 weeks.
