Denmark Visa Processing Time from India in 2026

September 2026·5 min read

Denmark is a popular Schengen destination for Indian business travellers and tourists alike. Copenhagen, Aarhus, and the Danish countryside attract visitors year-round, with a mix of corporate travel and tourism driving applications.

Here's what our data shows about Danish visa processing times from India.

Current processing time

As of 20 Oct 2026, Denmark visas from India are taking a median of 6 days at VFS Bangalore, 6 days in Delhi and 7 days in Mumbai, based on 4,793 passports we've seen dispatched by BlueDart. Half of applicants get their passport back sooner than the median.

Median and 90th-percentile wait from application date to courier dispatch, for applications made 45–90 days ago. Too little recent data for Jaipur. Live numbers for every centre, updated several times a day: compare Denmark centres.

What affects processing time

  • Business vs tourism: A significant share of Danish visa applications from India are for business travel — visiting companies like Maersk, Novo Nordisk, Vestas, and Carlsberg. Business visas with strong employer letters and invitations tend to process smoothly.
  • Seasonal variation: Summer (June–August) brings higher tourist volumes, though the spike is less extreme than for Mediterranean destinations. We've been tracking since June 2026, so we can't show a full year's pattern yet.
  • Complete documentation: The Danish embassy is straightforward — complete applications process on schedule. Missing documents, especially bank statements or accommodation proof, are the most common cause of delays.

Processing by city

All VFS centres in India forward applications to the same Danish embassy. Volume differences between cities can lead to slightly different processing speeds; the table above shows every centre with enough recent data, busiest first. Check the city comparison to see current speeds.

How to track your Denmark visa

After submitting at VFS, your status will show “under process at embassy” until a decision is made. This status gives you no visibility into progress — read our guide on what this means and how to get real updates.

Use our Denmark processing tracker to see the processing frontier — the most recent application date that has been dispatched. Once your passport ships, track it on BlueDart with our tracking guide.

Denmark visa requirements

Standard Schengen visa requirements apply. Key documents include:

  • Passport valid 3+ months beyond return date
  • Travel insurance (€30,000 minimum coverage)
  • Flight itinerary (round-trip)
  • Hotel bookings or invitation letter from Danish host
  • Last 3 months of bank statements
  • Employment letter with salary details (or business registration for self-employed)
  • Cover letter with itinerary

For the full checklist, see our Schengen visa documents guide.

Bottom line

The current Danish wait at each VFS centre is in the table above. Plan around its “9 in 10 within” figure for your centre, plus time to get an appointment, and bookmark our tracker to monitor progress.
